I just realized it's been a little over a week since my last update. Last weekend was pretty exciting for Cindy, she got officiate at her first wedding! A friend from her work got married and had asked her to do the ceremony for them. It was a small wedding but very nice outdoor setting, you can see the Flickr album here.
As for me, Pastor Dennis asked me to help his charity with pick ups while he is out of country so last Monday and tomorrow I spend about 4 hours driving a box van picking up donations at two different stores and bringing them back to the warehouse to be sorted later. I enjoy helping him when I can but doing it every week for a couple of months started to take a toll on my back and I had to ask to step down and only help on occasion.
This weekend we went to three different Christmas parties. The first was to the Filipina small group that Cindy attends, The husbands were invited this time. we met at a local park and had a very good lunch and fellowship time. After that we went to another Filipino friend for a boat parade. the HOA has a contest for the boat owners to decorate their boats and motor around the lake. There is judging and prizes. Then today after church was the Lion's Club that we belong to turn to have their monthly meeting and Christmas party. This is part of what I love about the Filipino culture. No, not all of the parties but the sense of community that they have. At least once a month there is a reason for a get together with food involved and often karaoke too.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
