Sibonga: Bonga Festival & Town Fiesta

Sibonga is located in the south of Cebu Province consists of 25 barangays. The town fiesta is celebrated for the Roman Catholic in honor of their town’s patron saints – "St Felomina and Our Lady of Pilar" every 10th of August. And why there is a town fiestas? As we all know Philippines were colonized by the Spaniards for over 400 years so, it became tradition from the Spanish regime.

The street dancing and ritual showdown competitions are forms of supplication for greater progress and bountiful harvest of fruits, vegetables, more farm produce; fish and other sea food products

My husband and I flew from Phoenix, AZ

last year to witness the town fiesta. Check the video above too.

Of course, great music, they are dressed in a very colorful and various attires to promote the town's produce and native products

I know this year due to Pandemic the officials didn't get the chance to do the same thing as last year. I'm grateful for this opportunity and with my husband and also to spend time with my family in Sibonga.
